Terms & conditions of participation in price draw “50 years Cup Noodles”

1. The Promoter

The Promoter of the 50 years Cup Noodles competition is:

2. Eligibility

The competition is open to all UK, European Union and Switzerland residents, over the age of 18 years old at the time of participation. Generally excluded are employees of Nissin Foods GmbH, Nissin Foods Kft and their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the prize draw.

3. How to Enter

Participation in the competition is free of charge and no purchase is necessary.

To enter the competition all you have to do is:

  • Scan the QR code displayed at participating retailers during the competition period. You will be automatically redirected to the competition website where you will be asked to provide the information necessary to enter the competition.
  • Alternatively, it is also possible to enter the competition without a QR code by visiting the following website directly https://de.nissin-foods.eu/cupnoodles/en/50yearsCN1971 and entering the necessary information.

Participation via competition services or by means of automated third party mass-participation procedures is not permitted.

4. Prizes

Winning participants in the 50 years Cup Noodles competition stand to win one of the following prizes:

  • 5 trips to Japan
  • 50 Play Station 5 game consoles
  • 500 Nissin Cup Noodles gift boxes [containing a selection of 8 different products from our product range].

Each of the 5 available trips to Japan  is an 11-day holiday for 2 people (individual trip).  The prize includes flights, hotel accommodation and a visit to the Nissin CupNoodles Museum in Osaka.

Travel dates will be determined by the Promoter together with the winners but remain subject to applicable restrictions during the current Covid 19 pandemic. Winners accept any necessary changes to the prize due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control.

Please note, the prize does not include travel insurance, the cost of transfers to and from airports or stations, food and drink, spending money, tax or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner(s).

Winners are responsible for ensuring that they and any person travelling with them are available to travel and hold valid passports, any necessary visas and travel documents for the holiday on the date of travel.


The 50 years Cup Noodles competition will run from 18 September 2021 (the “Opening Date”) to 31 March 2022 (the “Closing Date”).

Any competition entries received after midnight on the closing date cannot be accepted.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind.


The winners will be determined by random draw  [performed by a computer process OR supervised by an independent person] from among all persons who have submitted the required and requested data completely and correctly on the website and who meet the conditions of participation set forth herein.

The prize winners will be contacted using the contact details supplied with their entry by 31 May 2022 at the latest to arrange delivery of their prize or with further information relating to booking their trip to Japan, as applicable.

The prize for each winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

If, after notification of a winning entry, the winner does not respond within 5 working days to confirm receipt and provide any further requested details (such as a shipping address), their respective claim to the prize will lapse. In this case, the Promoter is entitled to draw alternative winners from among the remaining participants.

The participants are responsible for the correctness of their supplied contact details. The Promoter accepts no liability for the timeliness, completeness or accuracy of the transmission of entry data. Should the contact data provided be incorrect, the Promotor is not obliged to take further steps to determine correct addresses. Any losses resulting from the provision of incorrect contact data will be borne by the participants.

The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into. 

Please Note:  The Promoter is obliged to publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname and county of prize winners to anyone who emails contact.de@nissin.com within one month after the Closing Date of the competition. Winners will be given the opportunity to object to their surname being made public in this way but the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.


Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to exclude or refuse to award the prize to any and all participants who manipulate or attempt to manipulate the entry process and/or the competition, or who violate these terms and conditions, including by means of illegal hacking.


The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the competition or its terms where it becomes necessary to do so.

The Organiser reserves the right to cancel the sweepstakes without notice and to terminate it without giving any reason.


The Promoter is the data controller within the meaning of the GDPR for personal data collected and processed in connection with the competition. The personal data collected from participants  (namely address, first name, surname and address as well as any photo and text data), will be stored and processed exclusively for the purpose of implementing and facilitating the competition and delivering prizes to winning participants.

The personal data of participants will only be shared with service providers commissioned by the Promoter (e.g. Alex & Groß GmbH) and, where necessary, with other third parties connected with the fulfilment of prize awards such as airlines and tour operators.

Where personal data belonging to third parties who are not participants in the competition is submitted to the Promoter, this personal data will also only be processed solely in connection with this competition and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Rights of the participants:

Participants have the right at any time to request information free of charge about their personal data stored, its origin, its recipients and the purposes of the processing. Furthermore, participants are entitled to demand that their personal data be corrected, erased or its processing restricted. Participants may also object to the processing of his/her personal data and have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authorities at any time. Further information on participants’ rights can be found in Nissin’s current privacy policy at https://de.nissin-foods.eu/unternehmen/datenschutz/. All personal data collected for the purpose of the competition will be deleted after the end of the competition and the fulfillment of prize awards.


Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner(s) or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

This does not affect any direct liability of the airlines and/or tour operators under the relevant statutory provisions.


These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
